On May 25th, the day I had been waiting for for months, something amazing happened. Magic Bleeds came out. That morning after dragging myself out of bed, I ran to the bookstore 10 minutes after it opened and bought the book. Let me just say.. Books-A-Million needs to have better organizing skills. They need an actual Supernatural/Urban Fantasy section. I found Magic Bleeds in the Science Fiction which if you want to get technical I'm sure this book could in SOME way be considered Science Fiction but just.. no. Moving on.
Magic Bleeds is the 4th installment for the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews. Magic Strikes ended with Curran leaving a note for Kate describing what he would like a Naked Meal to consist of. This book starts off with Kate not only getting stood up but snubbed by Curran for their 'Naked Meal.' Furious and hurt, the book already starts off amazingly. Action starts almost right away and it just keeps going and going. Throughout the book Kate has to deal with a whole new load of problems. Her job, her friends, the man she loves & even herself are all in danger. The stakes are getting higher and the enemies more brutal.
There were parts where I was literally holding my breath and refused to turn the page because I was afraid of the outcome. There were times where I even wanted to hit my head and go 'JUST DO IT ALREADY'. This book has it all : Action, romance, humor, drama. I just can't get over this it after finishing it 2 hours ago. I'm ready to start re-reading it already. Actually, next book please! ;]Ilona [& Gordon] Andrews never disappoint with this series. I'll admit I was almost driven crazy by the sexual tension in the past 3 books but this one ended it all. I finally got my release. Normally with series I've read, sometimes the books start to go downhill after the first or second. Kate Daniels & co. just keep getting better and better. The enemies are getting more and more dangerous and the battles are getting more and more deadly.
I'll admit though, I'm in love with Curran now. He really comes off as an overbearing jerk sometimes in the other 3 books but oh man. I can't get over him in this one. He's just amazing. I'm kind of starting to dislike Andrea though. I hope she'll be able to redeem herself.
All in all, I give this book a 10 out of 10. I can't praise it enough. I'm looking forward to Kate 5 already.
